The West Boylston Council on Aging is a human service department of the town, which serves the needs and issues of West Boylston seniors, age 60 and over, or families with senior issues. The Council on Aging offers a range of programs, services and activities, such as: transportation, information and referral, durable medical equipment exchange, medical screenings, free legal and financial clinics, SHINE, fuel assistance, Meals on Wheels, daily lunch, exercise classes, computer lab, billiards, Bingo, Wii Bowling, art classes, card groups, social groups, special events and trips. The department receives funding by local tax dollars appropriated at the Annual Town Meeting. The Friends of the West Boylston Council on Aging is the fundraising arm of the organization that can also supplement the departments budget and offer other support. Donations that are received go through the Friends organization and allow the Senior Center to mail the monthly newsletter, purchase equipment and pay for other special events or needs.
