Senior Centers provide friendship, fun and new paths to healthy living. In the early 1980s, the SWMOA Board made a permanent commitment to help leading organizations achieve local ownership of the centers. This would guarantee a future for senior centers, even if their funding were discontinued. To fulfill this commitment, SWMOA began encouraging senior citizens' corporations to purchase the senior center buildings, with the assurance that they would then rent or lease their building for services. The proceeds from their rent or lease payments helped senior communities to work for the debt-free property of their buildings. Today, they provide services through 38 elderly centers.  Their centers are committed to serving the full spectrum of seniors, from the healthy, active seniors who want to use a life of skill and experience to make a difference in their community through volunteering, to the frail seniors who need assistance to meet the daily life needs. Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday  8:00 am - - 4:00 pm Managed by a SWMOA employee whose title is Senior Center Administrator. ..
