Eat bland meals while a TV is playing? It's time to update your vision. The senior centers are not what they used to be. Today's Senior Center is a vibrant, action-packed mix of local fitness center, volunteer headquarters, transportation hub, and delicious local restaurants. Plan to visit your local seniors' center this month. Here are some things you may discover: You don't have to be on Medicare to take advantage of all the great opportunities at your local senior center. Anyone 60 years and older can enjoy the benefits. Approximately 70% of the participants in the Center for Senior Citizens are women. Three quarters visit their center 1 to 3 times a week and spend an average of 3.3 hours per visit. Studies have shown that senior center participants have higher levels of health, social interaction and life satisfaction than their peers. The Senior Center is not only offering card games. Sure, cards are available (and fun and challenging).
