Services: Office offers Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the elderly (EHEAP), serving low-income families, with at least one person aged 60 years or older, when households are experiencing a household energy emergency. A domestic power emergency may result from a delinquent light bill, lack of fuel or wood, or receipt of a shutdown notice. Payments are for home heating or cooling and other costs related to emergency energy during heating stations (October-March) and cooling (April-September). Eligible households will receive one benefit per season, up to a maximum of $600 per season. Program beneficiaries receive vouchers for the purchase of blankets, portable heaters, and fans. The program can also assist in the repair of existing heating and cooling equipment and payment of re-connection fees. Eligibility: A proven heating or cooling emergency, at least one individual over 60 years of age in the home, and a gross annual household income of 150% or less of the federal poverty guidelines.
