The Waconia Area Senior Center was established through the volunteer efforts of the Waconia Senior Center Task Force. The Task Force was created in February of 2016 by local senior community members who were passionate about starting a senior center to serve the Waconia Area. In the summer of 2016, Freshwater Church - Waconia Campus partnered with the Waconia Senior Center Task Force and graciously offered the use of their facility one day a week to start a senior center. The Chanhassen Senior Center has been providing service to seniors since July 4, 1992. It offers a welcoming environment and hosts an array of activities and programs for individuals age 55 and older. Recreational, educational, health, and wellness programs, monthly special events, day and extended trips, senior clubs, cards and woodcarving are some of the favorites. Whether you are newly retired, new to the Chanhassen area, or looking to get involved, take time to visit the Senior Center and you will discover one of Chanhassen's most popular destinations! We'd like to not that while our service area is primarily Chanhassen, we gladly welcome residents from all surrounding communities...
