If a woman and her children are abandoned here by dad/boyfriend, the HELP office will help them get back home. If person knows someone who could wire them money, but doesn't have the money to make the calls, the HELP office will make all the long distance calls they need for them. The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Senior Program promotes and improves the quality of life for seniors ages 55 and older through a wide variety of educational, cultural and traditional activities as well as health, nutrition and wellness services, assistance and resources. The Senior Center, located at the corner of Reservation Road and Golden Lane, is open daily except for regular, recognized holidays. At the Senior Center, weekday meal service for elders, who are ages 55 and older, is available. A nutritious lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. The menu is based on Federal Nutrition Guidelines for seniors and incorporates organic foods. In the summer of 2017, Washoe County began remodeling the old Incline Village Library, converting the building into a social gathering place for the residents of north Tahoe. On Monday, March 12, 2018, the new Washoe County Incline Village Community Center officially opened its doors to the public in a soft opening targeted to seniors in need.
