Services:
Offers Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP), helps low-income households with at least one person aged 60 and over when households experience an energy emergency.
An energy failure in your home may be caused by an overdue utility bill, lack of fuel or wood, or receipt of an exemption notice.
Eligible households can receive one benefit per season, up to $600 per season.
The program can also help pay for the maintenance or re-connection of existing heating or cooling equipment.
The beneficiaries of the program may receive vouchers for the purchase of blankets, portable heaters and fans.
Payments are for heating or cooling of households and other emergency energy-related expenses during the heating (October-March) and cooling (April-September) seasons.
Eligibility:
Record heating or cooling emergencies, at least one individual in a family 60 years of age or older, and a total household income equal to or less than 150% of the federal poverty standard.
