The L.I.F.E. Center was established in 1978 as an activity of Soroptimist International of Rocklin/Loomis. For more than ten years, the L.I.F.E. Center was operated by Placer Adult Education (PAE). In 1995 PAE withdrew its support, but the Center continued as a community outreach program under the sponsorship of the church. This sponsorship takes the form of an in-kind contribution of meeting space, but involves no funding. The Center is funded in part by Ed and Gerry Avery Memorial Fund as well as the James and Virginia Benson Memorial Fund of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation (SRCF). The Sacramento Region Community Foundations mission is "to serve leader and trusted partner in expanding philanthropy and enhancing its impact in our community". Loomis Senior Life Center a non-denominational entity funded through grants, contributions and participant fees. The L.I.F.E. Center now has a van so that South Placer residents who participate in the Senior L.I.F.E. Center in Loomis no longer have to worry about how to get there if they dont drive.
