A home energy emergency can result from an overdue utility bill, lack of fuel or wood, or receiving a shutdown notice.
Payments are for heating or cooling of the house and other emerging energy costs during the heating (October-March) and cooling seasons (April-September).
Eligible households can receive a seasonal benefit, up to $600 per season.
Program beneficiaries can receive vouchers to purchase blankets, portable heaters, and fans.
The program can also help cover the cost of repairing or reconnecting existing heating or cooling equipment.
