About Cleveland County Department of Social Services

Programs include Child Protective Services, Family Preservation, Foster Care and Adoptions, Child Care Subsidy Program, Crisis Intervention, Protective Services for Adults, Guardianship Program, Health Insurance Programs, and Monitoring Rest Homes. Also provides these special assistance programs: Work First Cash Assistance, Work First Employment Services, Medicaid, NC Health Choice, Food Stamps, State-County Special Assistance for Adults, Low Income Energy Assistance, USDA Food Distribution, and Child Support. Crisis Intervention Program provides financial help to households that are in a heating or cooling-related emergency. Sign up is in November.
