Open Monday thru Friday 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. You must be 60 years of age and live in Meriwether County to join. The Center offers a hot meal daily cooked on site. The menu is state regulated to meet your nutritional needs. The use of an indoor gym is provided from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm for you to enjoy your daily walk. Most seniors meet in the mornings beginning around 7:30 am. The seniors enjoy walking, socializing, arts and crafts, and chair exercise using DVD tapes. Every Friday a variety of Brain Games are played, instructed by volunteering college students. On the third Friday of each month its movie Friday with refreshments. The movie shown starts at 9:15 am depending on the length of the movie. The movie is selected the prior month by the seniors. Yoga is taught Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00 am and at 6:00 pm by a Yoga instructor. Georgia Legal Service sends representatives to meet periodically with seniors to assist with their legal needs. If a legal problem arises before their scheduled time a number is available to reach them. Various health agencies come and provide presentations. Presentations offer information regarding health needs, home safety, scam alerts, medication management as well as other senior related topics. The Manchester Health department provides us with valuable health information as well as Flu vaccinations. Transportation is provided thru the Dept. of Human Resources if you live in the Meriwether County area. MOW (Meals on Wheel) is provided for homebound clients. Eligibility is based on NSI and DONR scores handle by Three Rivers Area Agency on Aging based in Franklin Georgia.
