The Campbell County Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM each day. The Center is located at 3504 Alexandria Pike (in front of Lakeside Terrace overlooking the lake.) The Center offers an array of activities and programs based on a wellness model. Every senior citizen attending the center has the opportunity to use the exercise equipment on a daily basis, attend scheduled activities, participate in health and total wellness programs and receive individualized training if necessary. The Center is staffed by Marsha Dufeck, Center Director; Jessica Shields, Wellness Coordinator; Theresa Connaughton, Assistant Manager, and Veronika Brannock, Wellness Assistant. Center Operations are overseen the Campbell County Fiscal Court. The programs offered at the Senior Center are designed on a wellness-based model that responds to the needs of the whole person in a peer-supportive environment, encouraging independence and the practice of healthy behaviors. A combination of strength training, balance and coordination activities, whole-person wellness information, group supports (such as The Diabetes Support Group), walking programs, socialization, Tai Chi, Yoga, arts and crafts, and Wii Bowling are incorporated into the activities and programs offered monthly.
