The Council on Ageing develops, promotes, and provides services for Dartmouth's older people, people aged 60 years and over.
The nine members of the Council are appointed for three-year terms overlapped by the Selectmen.
The Centre is a multi-purpose.
The Regional Elderly Nutrition Program offers meals at the center every day of the week.
The services and programs in place are many and varied: direct case management, transportation, health clinics, food and other shopping trips, senior citizens' clubs, and tax assistance, to name a few.
The Council continues to serve the large community: Clinics, Computer Classes, Municipal Senior Identification Cards, Food Bank, Blood Bank Coordination, and many other public service channels.
The loyalty and dedication of their staff and many volunteers allow us to provide one of the best Centres and Aging Councils in the country.
They are what is called a multi-purpose senior center serving some 8,927 seniors in the Dartmouth community.
Motto:
"Any concern of an older person is the concern of the Council on Aging" and "They are available to help you by phone".
