About Praxis Housing Initiatives, Inc.

Praxis Housing Initiatives, Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit housing development corporation with the mission to convert single room occupancy hotels and similar housing into cost-effective, alternative, transitional and permanent living and service environments for homeless and near-homeless persons. Praxis implements supportive housing initiatives among the most challenging homeless populations of New York City. Praxis seeks to form new collaboratives with not-for-profits, government agencies, and for-profit owners. Praxis is committed to housing as the essential factor in stabilizing persons living with HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, or other life-threatening concerns.
