Crook County Senior Services, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides senior programs and assistance for people 60 years of age or older.
Their programs are funded by state and federal grants along with the support of the Crook County Commissioners, the towns of Hulett, Moorcroft and Sundance, the Senior Center Boards of Hulett, Moorcroft, and Sundance, and senior citizens who use their programs.
They also have fundraising campaigns to ensure that their programs continue to exist.
The focus of their programs is to keep senior citizens active and connected to the community and to enable them to remain independent for as long as they can.
The future offers endless opportunities to expand their programs as their seniors live longer and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
Many senior citizens today do not see themselves as seniors.
They are developing new activities to include intergenerational opportunities to encourage greater community involvement.
They hope that by bringing people of all ages together, they can erase the stigma that aging is a negative thing and educate the community about the wonderful gifts and contributions that older adults have to offer.
